The National Association of Presort Mailers (NAPM) at its recent 2023 Annual Conference recognized Mark Kolb, President of United Mailing Services and UMS Print Solutions, Brookfield, WI, with the prestigious NAPM Sue Foster Award.
“Mark has supported the NAPM for many years, both on its Board of Directors and also through committee participation and leadership,” said NAPM Executive Director Bob Galaher. “He brings tireless passion and dedication to NAPM’s work,” he said, “and is always thinking about NAPM’s diverse set of members as he works to advocate for solutions that help the Postal Service and NAPM’s members.” “Mark is always focused on developing collaborative approaches in our work with the Postal Service,” said Rich Gebbie, Midwest Direct, NAPM President, “and has been key in helping NAPM develop a strong working relationship with the USPS as well as a collaborative approach between members of the association.”
Mark Kolb has served on NAPM’s Board of Directors for 13 years and currently holds the officer position of Second Vice President. Mark is one of NAPM’s representatives on the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC) and is active on many MTAC workgroups. He is the chair of NAPM’s Data Subgroup and has participated on numerous NAPM committees. He has acted as lead for the past year in helping NAPM work with the Postal Service on Category 14 undocumented issues, and was also instrumental in NAPM’s work with the USPS to develop the Seamless Acceptance incentive.
While not at work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, his two sons and friends. Mark is a sports junkie who loves music and going to concerts. He is an avid boater who finds his relaxation when on the water watching sunsets.
The Sue Foster Award was created by NAPM as its highest award of distinction, named in memory of Sue Foster who worked for the NAPM for many years. Sue was the stalwart matriarch of the NAPM who often kept the Association functioning in the earlier years of its growing pains. She demonstrated complete dedication, passion and commitment to the organization and its members. Sue had unparalleled loyalty and passion for the NAPM and her contributions to the organization helped make it what it is today. In developing the Sue Foster Award, nominees are individuals who have made significant contributions in support of the NAPM and should exemplify the dedication and loyalty to the association exhibited by Sue Foster.
The NAPM Awards Committee and Board of Directors selected Mark Kolb as the 2023 Sue Foster award recipient, and the award was presented at the association’s Annual Conference.
